Discuss practical support for your family
Every family has its own rhythm: the familiar routines, interests and small details that make a day feel comfortable. Tell us about the everyday support you hope to arrange and what matters to the person who would receive it.
Start with your family’s everyday life
You might want to discuss practical help, companionship or support around activities and routines. Explain what you would welcome help with and what the person enjoys doing for themselves.
We listen to how your family communicates, the routines you want to preserve and what you would look for in someone supporting you. You can begin with a broad enquiry; detailed requirements belong in the team’s follow-up.
Keep the individual involved
A CarePal is a care and support worker matched around the individual. If a suitable arrangement can be agreed, we consider the relevant experience, personality, communication preferences, location and availability.
Parents and the child, as appropriate, can be involved in reviewing suitable profiles and choosing whom to meet. Meeting first gives everyone a chance to ask questions and understand the proposed role.
Talk through what can be agreed
Children’s support and any personal-care, medication or specialist activity need an individual scope and suitability check under the current arrangements. We explain the relevant checks and responsibilities before anything is agreed; an enquiry does not confirm that a particular service can be offered.
Where a package is suitable, the aim is a dedicated CarePal or small consistent team, with time to build familiarity. The same person and absence cover cannot be guaranteed.
Let’s talk about what would help
Our minimum visit is two hours, with a minimum support package of six hours per week. Both minimums apply.
There is no upfront matching fee. Payment begins when a suitable CarePal is in place and support starts, in line with your agreement.
The team checks the support postcode, proposed activities and CarePal availability with you. This is planned, regular support, not an emergency or immediate-start service.
