Discussing practical support for your family

Explain the broad support wanted for your child and where it would take place. A separate scope and suitability review is needed before anything is offered.

Discuss a specific family request

Tell the team about the broad practical support wanted and where it would take place. Children’s support requires a separate review of current service scope, relevant experience, safeguarding, the responsible parties and the arrangements before a service can be offered.

Keep specialist duties distinct

Do not assume that a CarePal matching enquiry includes medical tasks, education, therapy or developmental interventions. Relevant professionals remain responsible for their advice and plans. Detailed needs are discussed through the appropriate human intake after the initial enquiry.

Choosing someone to support you

A CarePal is a care and support worker matched around the individual’s support needs, interests, routines, communication preferences, location and availability. You review suitable profiles, help choose whom to meet and meet a potential CarePal before support starts.

We aim for a dedicated CarePal, or a small consistent team where appropriate, so there is time to build familiarity. The same individual cannot be guaranteed for every visit. Discuss absence and cover arrangements before support begins.

Discuss whether we can help

Our minimum visit is two hours, with a minimum support package of six hours per week. There is no upfront matching fee. Payment begins when a suitable CarePal is in place and support starts, in line with your agreement.

Support is subject to suitability, agreed arrangements and CarePal availability. Any personal-care, medication or specialist requirements need a separate scope and suitability check before anything is agreed. This is planned regular support, not an emergency or guaranteed immediate-start service.
