Privacy, choice and preferred routines matter when someone discusses help at home. Ask what they want support with and what they prefer to do themselves. Involve family or trusted people where the individual wants this and it is appropriate.
Check the role before agreeing tasks
A request involving washing, dressing, continence or other personal-care activities needs an individual suitability and scope review. Do not assume that companionship or household support includes these duties.
Any healthcare advice or treatment needs remain with the relevant qualified professional. Everyday support is not presented as preventing infections, pressure injuries or other complications.
We take time to understand your support needs, interests, routines and communication preferences before sharing suitable CarePal profiles. You help choose whom to meet and meet before support starts. We aim for a dedicated CarePal, or a small consistent team where appropriate, so there is time to build familiarity and trust. The same individual cannot be guaranteed for every visit.
Tell us about any personal-care, medication or specialist requirements. These need a separate suitability and scope check under the current arrangements before anything is agreed.
Our minimum visit is two hours, with a minimum support package of six hours per week. There is no upfront matching fee. Payment begins when a suitable CarePal is in place and support starts, in line with your agreement.
Support is subject to suitability, agreed arrangements and CarePal availability. This is planned regular support, not an emergency or immediate-start service.
